FAQ's
Hopefully we've been able to answer all the questions you may have about our day. But if there's anything we might have missed then please just drop one of us a message.
Where is the wedding?
Kelham Island Museum
Alma Street
Sheffield
S3 8RY
The museum celebrates Sheffield's rich legacy of making – from skilled artisans to large-scale manufacturing. Celebrate the industrial Revolution, or trace the evolution of industry through the Victorian age, honour the Women of Steel, and explore how manufacturing shaped the vibrant modern city.
What time should I arrive?
The ceremony will start at 3pm
However, we ask that you arrive no later than 2.30pm to allow plenty of time to be seated and settled.
There is also a lovely pub on site at the Museum, so feel free to have a pint or pop whilst you wait.
Accessibility
Whilst the the venue itself is fully accessible and wheelchair friendly, the outside of the museum is cobbled and uneven.
There is a lift available to get up to where the reception will be held (1st Floor) and step free access when you get there.
If you do require any assistance or would feel comfortable with support or mobility aids (Chairs, walkers/sticks etc) please bring it with you. There will be places to keep it safe.
Further information can be found on the Kelham Island Museum Website
When do I need to RSVP by?
Please RSVP no later than 02/12/2025
If you have any questions regarding this date or if you need longer, please email Jess - Jessicalmhall85@gmail.com
Can I bring a +1?
Your invitation will be addressed to the people who are invited to the wedding.
Please do not bring any additional people/children/cats. (Dog’s will be taken into consideration)
Are children welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, this is a child free wedding.
We want you to have a night off and let your hair down.
What is the dress code for the wedding?
Smart, fun and comfy.
Whilst not a requirement, floral clothing/accessories are encouraged.
Is it ok to take pictures during the wedding?
We are kindly asking that all phones are put away and no photos are to be taken during the wedding ceremony please.
We have a lovely photographer who will be taking lots of photos during the ceremony and we want to see your faces, not your phones. He is also an ex-Teacher so will be handing out detentions to anyone with their phone out.
For the rest of the day, of course snap away.
When will food be served?
As the ceremony is a bit later in the day we are suggesting that people have a large breakfast or brunch before attending.
Canapes and cocktails will be served directly after the ceremony (4pm-ish).
You will be able to have a mooch around the museum whilst photos and nattering is going on.
We aim to have people ready to eat the main meal around 5.30pm (after speeches)
Is there accomodation nearby?
There is plenty of accomodation nearby, and we have made a few suggestions on the accomodation section. Please remember that it is a bank holiday weekend so hotels and airbnb’s may be busier than usual.
Is there parking at the venue?
There is a limited amount of parking available at the venue. However, this is locked overnight so any cars still there will be locked in until Sunday morning which may incur additional charges. A small number of free 24hr Disabled spaces are available.
There is a 24hr car park less than a 5 minute walk away which is very cheap and can be paid for either with card or on your mobile. Search Brookshaw Car Park on Google Maps.
What is there to do in the local area?
Sheffield is a great city and located in a great area of the uk, YORKSHIRE!!!
Kelham Island itself is a really nice little place to have a nosey in, lots of antique places and coffee shops.
Obviously we love the museum and if you want to arrive early and have a look, theres the River Don Engine that runs at 12pm and 1pm - Very loud and hot but really fun (Give it a google).
Does the venue take card?
Yes. The bar and venue is cashless so no need to worry about finding the nearest cash machine. Cash is dead anyway.
